Privacy Policy
Draft template. Legal review required before launch (TODO_LEGAL_REVIEW).
This page explains what Toolnido does with data. The short version: what you type into a tool stays in your browser, and the site has no accounts.
What stays in your browser
Numbers and text you enter into a tool, and photos or files you open in the image tools, are processed in your browser on your own device. They are not sent to our servers or recorded. The only exception is a problem report, described below.
- Calculator inputs and results: processed in the page, not uploaded.
- Photos and files (watermark, blur, grid tiles): read and drawn in your browser, not uploaded.
- Share links: the inputs are written after the # sign in the address. Browsers do not send that part to a server, but anyone you give the link to can read it.
- Saved plans: if a tool offers “Add to project plan” and you press it, the plan is kept in your browser (local storage) so the next tool can reuse it. It stays until you press the clear button on the page or clear your browser data.
What is sent to us
Problem reports. If you press Send in the “Report a problem” form, we receive the category, your message, the tool name and version, a site build code, a coarse browser class (for example “chrome-mobile”), a coarse screen-size class and your language setting. We also receive your email address only if you type one, and your measurements only if you tick the box. You can see the whole report before sending it. We do not store your IP address or your full browser string. To limit abuse, a short-lived counter based on a salted, truncated hash of your IP address is kept for one hour and then expires. Reports are deleted automatically after 90 days. To have a report deleted earlier, write to the contact address below and give the time you sent it.
Emailing us. If you write to us by email, we receive your email address and what you write, and we use it only to answer you.
What our hosting provider sees
Like any website, the site is delivered by a hosting provider. When your browser requests a page, the provider necessarily handles technical request data such as your IP address, the page requested, the browser type and the referring page, and may keep standard server logs and aggregate traffic figures (including country). Problem reports do not include your IP address, and we do not use these logs to identify individual visitors.
Usage statistics
The tool pages are built to count anonymous events, such as which tool was opened and whether it worked. Events never contain what you typed. In the current version these events are not sent anywhere: the analytics setting does nothing except in a developer test mode. If a statistics service is connected later, this page will be updated first.
Advertising
This site does not show advertising at the moment. If that changes, this page will be updated first, and a consent choice will be offered before any advertising cookies are used.
Cookies and local storage
The site's own code does not set cookies. It uses two items of browser local storage, listed on the cookies page.
Your choices
You can clear saved plans with the button on the page, or clear this site's data in your browser settings at any time. To ask about or delete a problem report, or to ask any privacy question, write to the contact address below. Depending on where you live you may have rights such as access to or deletion of personal data; we will try to help.
Children
The site is a general-purpose set of tools and is not aimed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes
If we change how data is handled, we will update this page. Material changes, such as adding advertising or a statistics service, will be made here before they take effect.
