When to use this
- A contract or delivery promise says within 10 business days and you want the date.
- You need the number of working days between two dates.
- Your week or holidays differ from the usual: a Friday-Saturday weekend, a company shutdown or a local holiday.
How to use
- Pick whether to add working days to a date or to count working days between two dates.
- Type the dates as year-month-day (2026-10-09) or month/day/year (10/9/2026).
- Tick the days of the week that are not working days. Saturday and Sunday are ticked at first.
- Type your holidays, one per line. The tool knows no holidays by itself.
- Press Calculate. Read the date or the count and check the assumptions under it.
Examples
- Five working days from a Friday: Friday 2026-10-09 plus 5 working days with Saturday and Sunday off is Friday 2026-10-16. With Monday 2026-10-12 listed as a holiday it is Monday 2026-10-19.
- Working days in the rest of a month: From 2026-10-09 to 2026-10-30 with both days counted there are 16 working days with weekends off, or 15 if Monday 2026-10-12 is a holiday.
Understanding the result
In add mode the tool steps one calendar day at a time from the start date. It counts a day only when it is not a ticked weekday and not in your holiday list, and it stops on the last counted day. The start date is never counted. In count mode it counts the same kind of day from the start date to the end date, including or leaving out each end as you choose. Negative numbers walk backwards.
Limitations
- Only the holidays you type are skipped. A public holiday you forget is counted as a working day, so check the list against your own calendar or contract.
- Some contracts count business days differently, for example by counting the start day or by moving a weekend holiday to the next Monday. Check your own wording and use the count options to match it.
- A half day is a whole working day here, and there is no cut-off time such as 5 pm.
- This is a date calculator, not legal advice. For deadlines with legal weight, confirm the date with the other party or a professional.
FAQ
How do I add business days to a date?
Choose Add or subtract, type the start date and the number of working days, tick the days that are your weekend and list your holidays. The result is the last working day counted; the start date itself is not counted.
Does it know public holidays?
No. It has no holiday data at all, so it cannot be out of date or wrong about a country. You type the holidays that apply to you.
How do I count the working days between two dates?
Choose Count working days between two dates, type both dates and decide whether the start and the end day count. Both are counted by default.
Can I use a Friday and Saturday weekend?
Yes. Untick Sunday and tick Friday and Saturday in the days-off list. You can tick any combination, but not all seven.
Are my dates sent anywhere?
No. The sums run in your browser. Nothing you type is uploaded or sent to a server.
